Christmas Greetings

This weeks AHSC was super fun and and easy to adapt for my card.  This week we are working on sketch number 34.  Here is the sketch:

The card image and bench came from All That Scraps or C.c. designs.  I used Prismacolors and Gamesol to color the image.  I used echo Park paper; however, I could not find the line.  The sentiment came from a stampin up set.  I cut the black snowflake with a cricut cartridge to help ground the image.  The puffy part on the image is appliqué from CTMH.

Have a scrap happy day folks!  Come join us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, we would love to see ya!
Cheers

Sugar and Spice

I loosly based my card this week on the AHSC #33 sketch.  Here is the sketch:

I used Digi images from Kris at Imagine That!  I am honoured to have been asked to be on her design team beginning in January.  I was fortunate to enter her challenge last month and got these cute little gingerbread people.  They are so stinking cute.  So with these images I wanted to create a card that also was based on the sketch.

I dug out the prismacolors and used gamsol to to blend the image but they are the pre copic blending of the world....lol. Old school is sometimes better!  I used liquid appliqué from CTMH to add "icing". The google eyes were added because my darling daughter said they made them crazy...teehee.  I used a Spellbinders die to cut out the tray and ran it through the Big Shot with the fan folder from Stampin Up.  The banner was created by printing off the sentiment and folding the edges to create a banner.

Last but not least the background was created with distress dots stamp from stampin up, which I inked with Versamark and used sparkly embossing powder.  I wiped the holiday red from CTMH with a baby wipe.  The patterned paper came from CTMH -holiday 2013.  I really enjoyed making this card as it reminded me to use some supplies I have had a very long time...lol
Happy scrapping y'all

PEACE on Earth AHSC #32

Today's sketch from Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge I tipped sideways.  Somedays I just can't get my brain to see things the way they should...lol

I love the flexibility of using theses sketches and applying them to already wonderful stamps.  The hippie chick comes from All that Scraps!  I love digital stamps and I have filled Christine for a few years. Amy R creates cool sentiments from her shoppe too....just sayin:).

I used a piece of chipboard to create the sentiment and covered it with paper that looked like jeans.  I used all scraps to get some used (ask Melanie about the mount I am trying to work through...lol). I coloured her with Sharpies and promarkers (hair was completed with promarkers).  I had a gellieroller pen for her boots and used Stickles for her shirt.

I just used a spellbinder to mimic the earth and stamped Happy Holidays inside.  I really love the look of a card when it is finished inside.

Like my hippie chick. I sure hope you have amazing holidays and humanity can find some Peace on Earth.
Cheers,

Reindeer Joy AHSC #30

Hello folks,

Recently I have discovered: Imagine That Digi Stamps by Kris!  Love them!  This weeks card sketch inspired me to get the image printed (I have had it for quite some time) and get the copics out and get colouring!

I really enjoyed this sketch because it was a different size card and I had to think about the orientation
Of the card.  I used my copics and MAMBI Paper. I had some brads and voila card almost complete. I also added some circles punched from red cardstock, a little corner bling and some holiday CTMH ribbon!

Hope you enjoyed another card from moi!  Have a scrap happy day folks.
Merry Holidays and Happy Christmas!
Cheers

Birthday Surprise for Imagine That!

I have a friend, very very talented friend, that said, " look at the stamps at Imagine That".  Now she is so good she got on the design team and as you can imagine I couldn't help but look at all the wonderful talent offered.  So to make a long story even longer I guessed a few sentiments for a set (and won..... Holy moly). So when asked about the second set I won I chose something I could easily make a card for the monthly challenge.........and so without further adieu .....here is my Birthday Seahorse card!

I have been so busy I can only take my photos at night and the lighting is not quite as good as it should be.  I used the Birthday Seahorse for this card, you can find it at : https://www.imaginethatdigistamp.com/.         I used cardstock that was very neon yellow, not sure of the brand.
Then I used copics to color the seahorse, and the background.  I made sparkly waves with stickles and used
American Crafts ribbon.

I hope that you enjoy another card created by me!  I also am selling CTMH. You can find my web page at http://tarah.ctmh.com/Default.aspx.

Hope you have a great day! And happy scrapping folks
Cheers,
Tarah

Elves four main food groups........AHSC #28

I loved doing this weeks sketch because I got to combine my love of Whimsie Doodle stamps with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  This weeks sketch is created by Michelle Stewart and darla Haverstock does the techie stuff!  Rock on girls, love the inspiration!  Go check it out at:

http://atlanticheartschallenge.blogspot.ca/2013/11/sketch-29-ahsc.html

You know you wanna!  Give yourself the boost in the butt you need to get the card factory churning!

My little elf came from Whimsie Doodles.  They have the best digital stamps around!  They are cute and the
sentiments are very cleaver!  I searched the web for the sentiment and had to,paraphrase a bit but the essence
Is still captured!  Really?  Who doesn't LOVE candy, especially at Christmas?  You can find Whimsie Doodles at:
http://www.whimsiedoodles.com/

I used crate paper: snowy day collection.  I have had it for a very long time so I figured I should probably dust it
off...teehee.  I also dug out some holiday red CTMH ribbon.  Having a stash Is great but I sure would like to
whittle it down some!  The silver bling came from American Crafts.  The copics I used are as follows:

I sure hope you get to enter the AHSC and get a tiny bit of shopping at Whimsie Doodles to boot!
Have a scrap happy day and thanks for dropping by!
Cheers!

LAUGH: until your heart overflows....AHSC #27

This week while chatting with Michelle I realized I did not have the card completed for the challenge...opps!  I kicked in gear and created a 3x3 card I. A quick hurry!  This is the link for the challenge and sketch:

I mostly used CTMH product this week....it just happened that way...lol.  The image came from a winter set I purchased last year and didn't get to use.  The sentiment was also stamped and embossed .  I used epoxy bling!   A new found love!  They were just too easy to use!  Then I wrapped Bo bunny:Blitzen collection with Stampin up twine.  This will be a great after Christmas/ winter thank you or thinking of you card.  Hope you enjoyed this "blink of the Eye" quick run-down!
Have a scrap-tastic day!
Cheers y'all

Whimsie doodle Happy Holidays AHSC # 27

I have been one busy girlie lately!  I love being busy but my body...not so much!  This weeks AHSC had to be rotated for my card but just the same it was a ton of fun and excitement!  We only have something like 59 more sleeps until Christmas!  If I am truthful, there is nothing better than seeing my little girls face when we wake up and the wonder and amazement the day brings!

For this card I used a Whimsie Doodle digi image!  I absolutely love the images from there.

used my copics to color the digital image.  Then I used stickles in ice blue and icicle to bling her up.  I used a large rhinestone from some recollections ones I had. I used liquid appliqué to create a faux snow pile.
I have noticed sequins on many projects lately so I used a few for snowflakes.  I think it turned out pretty cute!  The sentiment I printed on the cardstock and used Close To My Heart silver ribbon!  I used black recollections cardstock to mat the image and patterned paper.  The white paper was embossed with an embossing folder then I used silver ink to "pop" the image.  I side some paper from a 6 inch Bo Bunny stack.
As a colleague use to say just do the quick and dirty!  Folks that is mine...lol
Have a scrap happy day!
Cheers,

Thank you Blossom AHSC #26

This little darlin of a sketch comes directly from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, it's number 26!

I hardly ever follow a sketch exactly as I see it however they are a wonderfulpointbof reference.  Occasionally, usually when I'm in a great hurry I follow it however I try and let the creativity of the sketch and my ideas come together!

e

I just started randomly pulling scraps from my box and decided to make flowers.  I made what I had in scraps and that totalled 5.  Here's the kicker, the flowers in "full bloom" were too big to use more than one (in my opinion) and not overtake the card.  I used tim holtz Distress ink to grunge up the flower and edges.  I used CTMH SWIRL stamp and a thank you sentiment from another set.  The lace trim came from Decollections Lace Tape.

It went together quick once I figured out what I was going to use and how I wanted it.  Sometimes figuring what you will use is more difficult than putting it all together...lol.

Hope your having a scrap happy day!
Cheers to you,
Tarah

Christmas decorations ACSC #25

Hello all you card makers and paper crafters!  Today we are looking at card sketch number 25.  This sketch is an easy peeasy one because you can adapt, like all the sketches, into something that works for you!

I am absolutely guilty for leaving this card last minute but I had already coloured the girl elf (last year for peats sake). So when I rummaged around and whipped up this Christmas, holiday cheer card -it all came together with a little glue and mortar!

I used sharpies to color the girl elf, even the silver Christmas ball she is holding.  I used recollections black cardstock, doodlebug designs red patterned paper and my minds eye laundry line for the background.  The ribbon came from a stash and I think it's prima but if not then .....well, I'm not so sure.  I used bling that I purchased at the good old dollar store (although I have never gotten out of the store for a mear dollar!!). I used gelli embossing powder in jet black for the sentiment which was also in my loose stamps.

I hope you participate in this challenge blog because what better way to get some cards accomplished while having fun with others?!

Have a scrap happy day folks!
Cheers,
Tarah

Tea and thanks

I really have been focusing on using scraps.  I have used the AHSC sketch as inspiration and that makes it much easier to throw a few together. I have 3 more I am working on and will photograph and show as I finish.
Hope tour day is wonderful even with this cold and blustery day!
Cheers,
T

I usually am in full swing for making Halloween cards but I created many last years and have a ton left, so I guess I will focus on others...lol

Bird House Thank You AHSC # 24

I can say that my blog has been quiet as a mouse!  This is completely due to the fact that my family and I have been very very sick!  Yeck is all there is left to say!

Without further ramblings I want to post this weeks challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  We are on number 24!

For some reason lately, I have wanted warm tea.  I think because its getting cold and I don't mind not having heat but we have had the furnace on everyday!  Autumn is officially here at least that's my belief...when you have to turn the heat on you know winter is on its away!  So I decided to create this card to have a companion....the tea holder!

I made myself use scraps in my overflowing scrap box....I used echo park's for the record and then all cardstock.  This is a stampin up stamp but anything that has a branch or something dangling off the tree would work.  The paper flowers are generic and I bought them in a large package of bulk white flowers.  The pink brads are from Making memories and they are bitty buttons.  The centre of the large flower is from a package that my friend and I swapped some embellies to liven up our stash...so I am not sure where it came from.

I watercolored the background and then stamped the image.  I used versa fine, onyx black to stamp this ink is super for helping to keep some details.  I then had painted the flowers and fussy cut the birdhouse.  Hope you like it!

Come and join us at AHSC to play along!
Cheers,
T

Christmas flags for AHSC #23

I had completed this card a while ago and forgot I had even done it!  Come over to Atlantic Hearts Card Challenge and do this weeks challenge- at least you'll remember...lol.  Here is the sketch:

Well the poinsettia and the banner flag inspired this Christmas Card completed with Echo Parks holly jolly line.  I used the front cover, you know the one that comes in the front to advertise the line.  I fussy cut the sentiment and presents from the sheet and adhered using pop dots.  I also chose to make this a 5x5 square cards rather than a A2 size:).

Remember to come on over to Atlantic Hearts Card Challenge and give it a good ol fashioned whirl!  I just know you'll love it.

Happy scrapping y'all!
Cheers

Birthday cake at Chichi's

Really?  Who doesn't LOVE birthday cake?  Really?  As a guest designer I loved creating this cute cake, well in fact, I wish it was mine to eat!

I used Cosmo cricut paper to add a little pattern and flare!  Along with loving cake I used a ton of sticklers after I coloured this party cake!  I used a combination of copic and sharpies, both alcohol markers.  The pink ribbon was just a quick add because I really wanted the cake to take centre stage!

I invite you to pop on over to chichi memories and grab a HUGE piece of cake and some other goodies while your there:)

Happy scrapping y'all

Beccy's Place Magnificent Magnolia

Beccy has completed another beautiful set!  Oh my the talent this lady has-woweeeeee!  Check her out at Beccy's place

Another calendar page front and back was how I chose to display this feminine flower.

Backside of the calendar:

Without tooting my own horn, I really love the fact that after the year is over flip over all that prettiness and glue on a few pictures and voila!  Another year of things you love!  Gotta love something so versatile - I might just have to make another one of these cute calendars.

I sure hope you take a minute and go over to Beccy's Place because she has a load of talent just waiting for creative hands to enjoy!

T

Peeking Out AHSC # 22

This sketch immediately made me think of animals peeking out a tree trunk!  I love this cute sketch!
I sure hope it inspires you to come over to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and try out the amazing sketches for yourself!

I used a Close to my Heart stamp set called All Bundled Up, aren't the animals are so stinking cute!  They are all bundled up ready to take on a nice warm cup of hot cocoa!  I used a giant wood grain stamp to emboss a textured wood feel.  The top layer was completed the same way, only I used a coaster from CTMH to give it some dimension.  I then chose a light brown shade to rub over the coaster.  i chose a dark brown shade to ink the edges of the card.  I first stamped the images on white cardstock, coloured them with a water based marker and then punched them out with a 1 inch circle punch.  I would note here that if you want to create this card I would suggest punching the circles from the cardstock with a larger punch.  It was a bit difficult to line up the circles with the coaster in the end. Before adhering to the base, I inked around the circles with the light brown ink.

After embossing the sentiment with sparkly black embossing powder, I tied some brown twine from The Twinery around the top.  I used dimensionals on the coaster to help pop the focus of the card and voila- card created for the awesome sketch from AHSC!

Have a super day creating!  The sun is out but there was frost on our vehicle this morning!  Brrrrr...
Cheers,
T

Beccy's Place Tulips

I want to give a GIANT shout out to Beccy from Beccy's Place!  She has a beautiful stamp set called Tulips out right now and her amazing talent keeps producing beautiful and wonderfully inspirational stamps!  I was lucky to be able to combine the last set, Geraniums, with this one and create a calendar.  I think I will give the calendar to my grandmother; however, in the mean time here are another few pages.

Butterfly Lucy AHSC #21

This is sketch number 21 from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  Michelle Stewart and Darla Haverstock have outdone themselves again :)
I used the wonderful C.C. designs Butterfly Lucy.  When I seen the cute butterfly on this card I immediately thought of her!  I think Christine Oliver Wooden is an amazing artist!  I coupled the image with a paper line I totally adore!  Basic Grey is one of my all time favorite paper companies.  They always have a number of beautiful papers, embellish and yummy treats that coordinate together well.  The purple butterflies were cut from basill cardstock using the Martha Stewart 3 butterfly punch.

I sure hope that you decide to join us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  The talent is endless from all the ladies who participate!

Have a scrap happy day!
Cheers,

Witchy Halloween

I started this card not exactly sure how it would turn out.  The sketch was provided by Isabelle Doucette owner of Let's Capture Our Memories.  As part of the design team I wanted to ensure I did a good job...I am always nervous about DT work!

I created the polorid type picture look by using Spellbinder rectangle And square dies.  I took the centre out and found the stamp that would fit inside and still be a cute image.  I used stampin up special occasions stamp set.  I coloured the image with copics sketch and spica markers.  These are the colours I used:

The outside of the Polaroid picture I used Swiss dots to emboss with black dots (I used black CTMH to color the inside of the cuttlebug folder).  At the same time I used a jagged edge cuttlebug folder to create the background for the main image.

I used Chillington Manor from Echo Park!  They continue to creat paper in the industry that is excellent!
All of the paper except the cardstock is from that line.  The brads are American Crafts that were ones I had from another project that was at least a year old.  The ribbon came from a spool I had bought at Mardens Discount store.  The sentiment is also from the All Occasions stamp set from Stampin Up.

Living as rural as we do, often the products we purchase are from other companies or mail order companies as its all we have that is ready at hand.  I love nothing more than getting to the city and shopping for scrappy goodies!  I would recommend trying out Let's Capture our Memories because once you place your online order it's shipped in no time and Iso is so wonderful at answering questions!  Go ahead and get addicted.......we all have:)

No card is complete without a finished inside.  I do finish the inside of all my cards; however, I don't always take photos to show them :). Maybe I will get better at that part!  Have a scrap happy day and I look forward to meeting more of you online at the LCOM forum!
Cheers,
T

Halloween Checkerboard, AHSC # 20

This card was inspired by sketch #20 at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (AHSC).  I sure hope you come join in on the challenge fun!  We love to see new faces, new inspiration and new friends!

This card I was so inspired by I made a coloured version and a black and white version.  I used CTMH stamps but I could not find the stamps anywhere, so I guess the ghost of Halloween has floated in and mysteriously taken my stamps.......damn ghost!

I stamped the images then fussy cut or hand cut them out.  I used SU dimensionals, layering them onto patterned paper ( or black cardstock and then patterned paper).  The sentiment was stamped with memento black ink then I used the direct to paper inking on the sides.   I tied some purple and white twine from The Twinery around the sentiment block.......and voila (presto bamo) the card was finished! Happy haunting everyone.
Cheers,
T

Geraniums by Beccy's Place

Oh my word this set is so versatile!

I used a per coloured image to create the calendar front.  I decorated both sides so that when the year is done then it can be used as a place to put photos and display family events:). I used the upcoming year so I can gift this project:). I wanted the flower part to stand out as they are very vibrant, so I used glossy accents to crate a shine.

This is the flipped side:

Beccy's images are so easy to use and they get the creative juices flowing because they inspire all sorts of projects!  I would say that a trip over to
Beccy's Place to view all her wonderful digi's is worth your time and money:)

Have a scrap happy day

Always thinking of you/AHSC #19

This weeks challenge by Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge is number 19!  My oh my the time sure flies.
I love this little stack of cups by The Doodle Garden.  It is a digital stamp!  I really encourage anyone who has not tried digital stamps to do it!  I know once I did I have been hooked ever since!  I used Cosmo Circuit  Paper ; however, for the life in me I cannot remember the line name.  I used thie same line to not only create the card but also to paper piece the cups as well.  I used copic cool grey no.3 for shadows and yellow and green copics to color the striped cups.

I used Doodlebug twine that I purchased from C.C. designs.  The buttons came from the mega box of assorted buttons that keep growing at our house.  I also used a Stampin Up scalloped boarder punch. I framed everything with Stampin Up basic black cardstock and used one of their sentiments too.

Hope you have a scrap happy day wherever you live.
Happy Crafting!

Today I have been published with Chichi and welcomed to their team of amazing and talented ladies!  Thank you for the experience:). Check out all the cute digi images and blog Chichi blog.  Hope you have a great day;)

"T" is for tea from chichi memories

Oh my word what fun this was to create!  Just like the images at Chichi Memories, it was a fantastic and sweet project.  I used Cosmo Cricut paper which had the right balance of pink with girlish fun.  I loved this little girl image!

She was easy to paper piece.  I used copic sketch markers for the skin and teacup.  The skin colors that I use (almost all the time) are E00, E11 and the cheeks are R20.  These go to colors are easy to blend and super quick to lay down and look good.

I used Tattered Angles chalkboard spray.  I just loved how it matched the little girls outfit.  Plus my daughter loved spraying the mist and flinging it all over.  She did a happy dance and declaimed "I LOVE CRAFTS".

The tiny letters are from Cosmo Cricut.  The pink letter "T", is from letters I would consider my stash!  I do declare that this school year be more about using my stash rather than looking for so much new product.  I challenge you to dig out some old supplies, purchase a few new supplies and PURCHASE these cutie patootie stamps from ChiChi Memories!  Don't forget to take a picture and show us your awesome work using these stamps.

Hope you have a scrap happy day!

Silhouette, AHSC #18

This card was inspired by the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge # 18.  Here is the sketch:

This card was simple to create and (I think) it carries a sweet message:). I started with Stampin up while cardstock and cut it larger than needed.  I thought when I seen other cards completed in this fashion a Breyer had done the work (plus I couldn't figure out where my giant mess my daubers were). So in the end I inked up my Speedball Brayer with CTMH ink, I started with the blue and worked down to the green grass.  On the grass I rolled the Brayer back and forth to get the hilly effect.  The clouds were accomplished using inkadinkadoo masking paper.

Next I inked up CTMY Childhood Portrait images (tree and children) with black ink and placed on the cardstock.  My next adventure was to size the card and trim it down.  I used CTMH seam binding ribbon.  i MUST say that it is one of the nicest ribbons i have ever used!  love it.  it is soft and silky and ties in a sweet bow like a dream!  it is worth the money and i wish i had more of the stuff.I love the patterned paper in this line.  It is from Simple Stories. I always finish the inside of my cards and the inside of this is strips of patterned paper laying helter skelter.

Hope you enjoyed another card inspiration from AHSC!  I hope you join us this week and whip up an entry!  We love to see any project that this sketch has inspired you to do:)
Cheers
