Christmas Monkey

Who doesn't love Dustin Pike's drawing??!  If you haven't seen it yet- ya gotta head on over to doodle dragon studios!  This little guy was one of the pics I coloured with Sharpie markers.  They always surprise me because of how bright the color comes out!  Super Cool :).

I used Die Cuts with a View paper stack.  It is easily one of about 10 Christmas pads I have and let's face it- if you scrapbook then you have a lot of paper!  It seems that I have a ton of the stuff!  The cardstock is Bazill.  I used liquid appliqué and dried it with the all mighty heat gun :). The greeting came from Pink Cat Studios.

The ribbon is from Stampin up.  It is super easy to use and the brads are white glitter.  The chevron is cut at 1.25 inches and I just measured at the half way mark and drew a middle mark, hand cut and then popped them up.

Hope you have a fantastic Canada Day or Happy 4th!  Either way. Enjoy;)
Cheers,
T

Happy Canada Day!

This card was sooo fun to make. I continue to love Whimsey Doodle Digi Stamps!  I actually coloured this with Sharpie markers. I was sitting at the table waiting for my DD to finish and my Sharpies were at hands length!  I used a Stampin up folder called lattice to create the strip down the front sides of the Canadian flag.  Hope you have a fun filled day with family, friends and neighbours!
Cheers,

To have and to hold

This wedding card image is produced by Beccy's Place!  She has unbelievable talent and I recommend going to take a look at her work.  The images come in black and white and already beautifully coloured!  I love this image because my husband and I inscribed a sentiment inside our rings too.  Using fine cotton thread I stitched around the outside perimeter to symbolize tying the knot.  I also wanted to make Beccy's image the focus as the sentiment inside the rings is the essence of a persons vows. I sed black cardstock as a mat base to help pop the sentiment.

The great thing about creating this card was the use of flowers.  I have been trying to learn to place flowers on a card.  Although this seems like a simple task there is a trick to it- at least if your going for balance....lol.  The two blue ones were dyed with tattered angels mist.  I also lightly sprayed the card image with gold tattered angels mist.  I also used Kraft cardstock because it was a nice neutral color depending on the type of wedding we will be going to :). Hope you enjoyed another creation by moi!  Have a super fun summer kinda day!
Cheers

S is for sun

I follow a wonderful forum with amazing ladies!  They have recently posted a junior challenge which I thought how can I get my 3 year old to participate?  (Lightbulb moment!) I will make an alphabet book with her!  Bingo!

The flanges will all measure 6 x 6 so I can make a book with them when we are completed.  I also thought working on colors and numbers would be fun too.

Sorry the picture is dark. We have had a lot of dark rainy days:(. Mr sunshine would be a happy addition to the day...lol

I am so darn proud of my daughter, although I drew the sun she coloured it and the clouds.  She even cut some of the background pieces!  Super job Giggles;)
Love mom

Life, Liberty and Happiness

This card was so much fun to create!  I started with a piece of acetate (cut to 5x5), alcohol inks and a straw.  I just would drop about 2 spots of ink and blow through the straw.  It only takes a few minutes and the effect is awesome!  Once completely dry I mounted the acetate on a 5x5 easel card.  Using copics I coloured the house and words.  The words are done in a gradient fashion, from darkest to lightest.  I also used a making memories rub on for the word "and".

R U Beary Grumpy?

This little grumpy Gus comes from Beccy's Place.  I used an image that was already coloured for those who just love the creative process without the need to scribble or blending colors.  I used an A2 size card, also known as an A-Frame card.  If you need a tutorial on various types of cards that you can create please go to: http://beccysplace.blogspot.com.au/.
Beccy has a ton of photo tutorials highlighting the various methods to create cards....I am excited to try a few
for sure!

I used scraps that were needing me use them up!  I believe the patterned paper is Close to My Heart.  The flower came from the dollar store...you know the big flowers you can buy...well take those home, tear them apart and Voila- instant flowers to alter, play with or just use.  I used Distress Ink around a Spellbinder die to get that framed in look.  That cute crocheted butterfly came from a friend!  Her sister creates those cuties (although I hear she may not have as much time on her hands as she is having a beautiful bundle of love- CONGRATS). When I use this card I hope it brightens someone's day....even though everyone has those kinda days!  Happy Scrappin folks!
Here's to a beautiful sunshiny day!
Cheers!

Bear Hugs

I love this digital stamp set from Beccy's Place!  When I seen this set I immediately thought of my Dad because my daughter gives her bear hunting Grampy a Bear Hug every chance she can!  It reminded me that sometimes the traditions, even tiny ones, can be special and tender!  The Bear With Me set includes a load of images for all bear lovers!

I coloured this image with my Copics.  Using a color guide from the app MarkerPro, it was easy to select a combination I could work with.  I used Echo Park and Sassafrass papers to pull some Masculine papers into the design.  Love is circular with no beginning or end and I know for a fact that is how they feel about each other!  I used dollar store brads to secure the circles.
I am just now get into using Washi tape so this was my first pass at using some fabric and washi tape in a card layout.  It might be another addiction....I think it just might be....lol.

Hope you are having a bright and sunny day today!

Guest Designer at Beccy's Place. : I LOVE you beary much

Wow this was a dream come true to be allowed such a great honour to be a Guest Designer for Beccy's Place!  I used the Bear With Me digi set to create 3 cards.  I started with using my Copics.  Recently I have found an app that not only helps organize your Copics but has some color combos.  I used the color combo for med. brown hair for mama and a lighter color combo of 3 colors for baby.

I used My Minds Eye paper (small print), Echo Park pink polka dots and chocolate brown Bazill cardstock.  I received the flowers in a swap;however, I believe they are from Recollections.
